PESCHIERA DEL GARDA, ANIMAL-FRIENDLY

Today, famous for its amusement parks, especially Gardaland, Peschiera in July 2011 has been entered into the world heritage of UNESCO for the pile-dwellings at Belvedere and Frassino Lake. The site of Belvedere measures 30,000 square metres, probably inhabited in all three of the Bronze Ages.

Today, there isn’t much to see, most of the findings from Peschiera are at the History Museum of Vienna, but for those who arrive, the news of being in a heritage site of UNESCO, certainly makes the area unique. Just think: the period between 1800 and 1500 BC has entered history under the name “PESCHIERA-ZEIT” (period of Peschiera). Another source of pride for the inhabitants is that this town is “animal friendly”, having opened Bau Beach: a beach for dogs and their owners.

The report of Peschiera del Garda

If you have pets Peschiera is equipped to make them live a good holiday.

If you are fascinated by pile-dwellings, the museum of the Ledro Lake in Trentino is certainly more educational and informative compared to the sites of Peschiera (where unfortunately, there is nothing to see). From Peschiera del Garda, however, the Ledro Lake is quite a distance, almost 100 km ( www.palafitteledro.it)
